National cricket Leage Start from today in NEPAL


Region-VII (Janakpur) and Region-VIII (Pokhara) will be making their debut when the Wai Wai Under-19 National Cricket Tournament gets underway here on Thursday.
After the Cricket Association of Nepal decided to add two more regions in the national cricket, players from Janakpur and Pokhara will be vying in the eight-team tournament which will pick up national team for the ACC U-19 Elite Cup slated for February 1-10, next year in Bangkok, Thailand.
The league-cum-knock out tournament will see eight teams divided into two groups with top two from each pool qualifying for semi-finals after the league round matches.
Defending champions Region-V (Nepalgunj) will begin their campaign with a match against Region-III (Kathmandu) in a Group ‘B’ match at the Pulchowk Engineering grounds. In a Group ‘A’ match on the inaugural day, last year’s runners-up Region-II (Birgunj) will play Region-IV (Bhairahawa) at the TU Stadium in Kirtipur.
Other participating teams are Region-I (Biratnagar) and Region-VI (Baitadi).
