The last time Sri Lanka played Kenya in a World Cup encounter was in 2003.The Lankans refused to forfeit the game and played under concerns over security in Nairobi. The home side shocked Sri Lanka by 43 runs. This time around though, the Kenya squad is not so strong and it looks almost impossible for the Africans to defeat Lanka on their home turf. If you are optimistic and still fancy a huge upset, Bet are offering a staggering 18/1 on a Kenya victory. Read our betting preview and place a bet or two with our preferred bookmakers.

A weak display by the Sri Lankan top order cost them the game against Pakistan. Sri Lanka could make a couple of personnel changes for this tie. Chamara Silva’s fifty has more or less cemented his place ahead of Kapugedera. Lasitha Malinga is fully fit though, and could replace either Kulasekara or Thisara Perera in the eleven. Rangana Herath will play ahead of Ajantha Mendis as the second spinner. Upul Tharanga’s form in the opening slot is a cause for concern.

Kenya find themselves rooted to the bottom of Group B after a couple of disastrous performances. Cricket Kenya’s chief Samir Inamdar has cited differences in opinion between coach Eldine Baptiste and some senior players as the reason for their debacle. Although Kenya stand no realistic chance against Sri Lanka, they would do well to put up a better fight than they have in their last two games. Seren Waters, Collins Obuya, Steve Tikolo, Tanmay Mishra and Thomas Odoyo will have to take control of their batting which has failed miserably in the last two games.
